Hello everyone,
This Saturday's Ride is going to go to Riverside for a Chili Cook
Off. My girlfriend is part of a team that is organizing the Mothers
of the Military (MOM) Chili Cook Off. There will be about 20 or so
cooks competing for the title of best chili cook in Riverside and all
proceeds of this event will benefit MOM.
I have planned a route that will start in Burbank off the 5 Freeway
and Alameda. There is a small cafe on San Fernando Road called
Patrick's address: 6720 San Fernando Rd, Glendale. We can meet
there
and it is up to anyone that wants to eat to get there sooner. I plan
to have the kickstands up by 9:30 am. This will give us a couple of
hours to ride out to Riverside and get there around noon. We will
start out by taking the 134 to the 210 to the Route 66 Exit in La
Verne, that is about 32 miles via Freeway. Then we will cruise Route
66 all the way to Rialto about 30 miles where we will make a right
turn on Riverside Ave and ride about 10 miles to the location. The
event is at the Riverside National Guard Armory across the street
from Fairmount Park.
I suggest we get there hungry so we can try all the different chilis
these cooks have to offer. There will be music and entertainment as
well as raffles and games.
You can go to my website to see past chili cook offs. I have really
gotten to know a lot of these people and they are really fun to hang
out with. Check out my picture page at:

I hope to see you guys this Saturday.
Please respond with any comments so that I know who to expect and
make any changes to the route if there is a more interesting route to
take.
The weather is predicted to be great. Sunny and warm... we are lucky
to live in such a great part of the country to ride!
