C'mon over and ride in the Zebulon, NC Christmas parade with
Scootworks on December 4th... We'd like to have everyone who would
like to ride in it, at the shop by 12:30pm (but the earlier, the
better) Some of us will actually be there by 11:30ish, so feel free
to come on over as early as you like. We can walk up to the
HoundDawg Cafe for a hot dog before the parade! We'll make the short
ride to the starting point from there, then ride in the parade. No
helmets are required, and we'll have the shop open on that day with
refreshments for all, so you'll have somewhere to hang out.
Those of you who rode in last years ride know that we had a blast.
We had riders there from The Enforcers, Southern Cruisers, Raleigh
Red Riders, NCVulcan, VROC, Iron Eagles, CBA, GWRRA, MIG, and more.
Some riders came from over 100 miles away to ride in the parade with
us! We had a few wheelies, a burnout or two, lots of throttle
twisting and noise making, etc...but all at low (or no) speed.
Everyone is invited, and please pass the word along to other riders
that you know. The more, the merrier...wear your Santa stuff if you
like, fly banners, pull flags, advertise your riding club or group,
dress the bike up for the holidays and show it off...what ever you'd
like to do.
One quick note about the town of Zebulon. Zebulon is a pretty unique
town and has been great to us when it comes to motorcycle activity
and events. They really are glad to have bikers in town, 'cause they
know we all eat and buy stuff, and we're not the 'rough neck,
trouble causing group' that some seem to think we are (at least, not
most bikers, hehehhehe). They don't give us any flack about noise or
vehicle congestion. They welcome pretty much anything we do, which
is VERY different from a lot of other locations. I have friends with
bike shops in other towns, and from the horror stories I've heard,
we're very fortunate to have the blessing of Zebulon. I guess that's
one of the neat things about small rural towns in NC.
Anyway, I hope many of you can make it out to ride in the parade and
visit with each other. You can see a few pics from last year's
parade by going to http://www.scootworks.com/ and click on the image
labeled as "Event Photos".
