Have not tried hard bags but have found a place that will make a HUGE
set of leather bags but thay do not supply the mounting brackets
The place it Lutz's Leather. They made my bags for around $500.
here's their site: www.lutzsleather.com
here's their address & phone # 1163 MERCER ROAD (NORTH SEWICKLEY
TOWNSHIP) BEAVER FALLS PA. 15010 724-843-6220
Good luck!

Check with Rick Alloway (Rick Edwards) on the Delphi Drifter Forum, he has hard
bags with the brake lights built in.

At DI08 someone had a blue 900 with factory hard bags that I thought would look great on a Drifter. Something to think about.

Saw a set on a 1500 Drifter. (see "hard baggs" photo) Could not find the rider to get the details.

MUTAZU HAS COOL HARD BAGS THAT ARE UNIVERSAL, AND I THINK THEY CONTOUR
NICELY TO THE REAR FENDER.
Here are some hard bags for my 1500 I worked on through Chilhowie who I
swear by. They lock and hold their form and are all leather.

Man, I like those! you say they are Chillhowie? do they have a
style name?
Got any close-up pics you could post ?
I also have a Gooseberry Drifter,.& have B&B reproduction hard bags on
it. [the old bubble style].....while I like them & all,..I think the
Drifter just needs leather bags.
Another question if I may Westland?
You say you worked with Chillohowie?,on making your bags,... do they
make or do you think they would make a matching rear bag / trunk ??
I've been using a set of black Leatherlyke bags and they work out very nicely. This past fall at an auto show and flea market, I came accross some used fiberglass bags that for the price, I couldn't pass up. Fortunately I've been able to use the Leatherlyke mounting hardware but have had to make some modifications with the fiberglass bags.
If you keep an eye out on ebay, you'll come accross some used hard bags with the vintage look and for a decent price. With modifications, you could probably get them to fit your Drifter.
Photos attached; (1) the black Leatherlyke bags and (2) work in progress and yet to be painted fiberglass bags.
