There is a adjustment for the fuel air mixture behind that plug, but I doubt that's the problem. First I would use some carb and choke cleaner on the linkages....

If you're certain the head is cracked, you can have it repaired or replaced. Check w/ clearwater or Marnal. Use new head bolts, or ARP head studs,(reusable), ...

You can swap out the head in about 1 1/2-2 hours easily. I did it last time by: Drain the coolant so it's below the level of the bottom of the head (about 1/2)...
