Hello every one. I have a 2002 Dodge Neon SXT. I want to drain or flush the
power steering with fresh fluid. What is the best or easiest way to do it? I
have only done oil and coolant changes and don't know if I would damage the
power steering. I know I would have to turn the wheel a bunch of times to get
any air out of there if I do. The car has 72000 miles and is starting to loose
that feel it had when new. The car only has a K&N filter and Amsoil 5w30. I
know about the XL stuff they make also but I think they only did that to shut up
the guys who say that their stuff isn't API certified (but meets the
requirements). I only want the best and have a few quarts of their ATF in the
garage. I am reading that it can and should be used a power steering fluid (if
your car is not a Chrysler or Dodge, you may want to use the stuff you use for
your transmission instead of ATF just incase it would cause some kind of
problem).
