Got all new lights for my R/T, the fog lights are the only ones I'm
having trouble with. Thinkin I have to remove the bumper? Seems a
little too much just to replace 2 bulbs.

NOTE: I am not attempting to SPAM your message board as some people
have accused me of. I am merely posting to sell a car with a
MOPAR/CHRYSLER 420a engine that is modified...which is the same
engine as a neon and may be of interest to anyone who likes these
engines. Cut me some slack and at least check it out.

I'm selling a 95 eclipse 420a FULLY prepped for the Stage 5 HRC turbo
kit (over 500HP at the wheels when completed! not counting nitrous)
The motor can handle at LEAST 30psi of boost OR a 200HP shot of
nitrous! It has 500HP drag axles, racing limited slip, stage 5
clutch, standalone fuel management, is nitrous equipped and MUCH MUCH
MORE! I've invested $17,000 in the car but can no longer afford
it. The car can be completed (9 or 10 sec 1/4 mile) with parts on
ebay for pretty cheap but my dad is kicking me out so I have to
sell ASAP! If you've ever wanted to build a 9 or 10 second drag
car...this is the opportunity of a lifetime! Check it out, it's for
sale on ebay: item #2452042436.

NOTE: I know turbo eclipse owners hate this car b/c I've done
everything BUT add the turbo, so please don't email me...I don't want
to hear your whining. For people with Neons and 420a eclipses...this
post is written for you. If you don't like eclipses and own a neon,
you could swap the motors if the mounts fit then sell the eclipse for
base value.

ViewItem&category=6352&item=2452042436

This message board screws up links so if that doesn't work just go to
www.ebay.com and search: "drag eclipse" or 2452042436

Is there a headgasket problem on the SOHC neons? I have a 1996 2dr-5pd SOHC,
I had to replace the radiator when I first got the car because it got a little
hot....never into the red, I put in a new radiator and a "Fail-safe
thermostat" and was driving it tonight, everything was fine, was a 1/4 a way up
on the
temp gauge, and then all of the sudden jumped into the red and started beeping
so I shut it off immediately ... and then started it back up and the temp
gauge was down so I poured some coolant in, and then parked the car. I started
it
back up a little while later, and it smoked like hell, so I turned it off,
pulled the dipstick looking for water, and checked the oil cap for water,
everything was fine.... so I started the car back up with the radiator cap off
to
check for compression out of the coolant system, and everything was fine and it
didn't smoke.... ran like normal. Is this a fluke or do yall think I have a
blown headgasket?

Hi!
Yes the rpm's are a little high but you still get 30 mpg.
I have a 01 neon r/t and have a great time with it. Did some tuning and looks.
Does anyone know where to get struts for the car after it's lowered?

Yeah! According to all the pamphlets around the dealer, MPG rating went up this
year (36 from 32 highway) due to a taller overdrive. We originally test drove an
'03 SXT. Our car's tranny feels a little tighter, and overdrive only drops it
about 500-600 rpm at 65. I think R/T's may have shorter gearing than base neons.
But that is a seat-of-the-pants assessment not verified fact. However despite
cruising at 3500rpm (75-80 mph) through the Cajon Pass, I'm still getting
32-34mpg. Do R/T's have the same tranny as base neons?

Read this and send them an e-mail if your interested -

called S.A Alpine Developments earlier today about "something else"
totally unNeon related. After I found out what I needed to know,
I "didn't forget about you guys" and asked what it would take for
them to make a kit for Neons. Afterall they make turbo AND
supercharger kits for HYUNDAIS and good ones too. Ask any Toyota V6
owners, they make this kit for TRD.

Alpine would be INTERESTED in making a Neon kit for both 1st and 2nd
gen cars. Maybe even both supercharger and turbocharger kits. What
YOU guys need to prove is there enough interest in a kit, either
turbo or supercharged. Alpine also has clot and money for CARB
approval. All their TRD kits and the kit for the V6 Hyundai Tiburon
all have CARB E.0 numbers. They are pending approval for the Hyundai
turbo kits soon.

First, let's not get into an argument into WHICH one is better. If
you have enough interest overall, BOTH will get built and THEN you
can argue all you want about it.

What Steve@Alpine needs to know is can he recover the cost of
tooling up kits for Neons? I say yes...

So here's your information -

Stephen M. Belanger
Sales & Marketing
S.A. Alpine Developments, Inc.
7581 Acacia Avenue
Garden Grove, Ca. 92841
sbelanger@...
www.alpine-developments.co.za
Ph (714) 379-8066
Fx (714) 379-8166

He keeps an e-mail folder for each manufactuer request.

E-mail him and he'll keep all the request on file and when the next
set of meetings come up, he'll present them to the company owners.
He told me even with the work they have now, they MIGHT be able to
start development for a supercharger kit and/or turbo kit by this
summer, which means it might be ready for show at SEMA '03 and MIGHT
be able before the end of the year.

So if you want a supercharger kit, say so

If you want a turbocharger kit, say so

If you want a choice and have both available, say so

Alpine make several OEM quality kits for Toyota, Mitsubishi, GM and
Hyundai. THEY KNOW what they are doing.

Join my Neon SOHC club. That's all we talk about is how to make the
SOHC and the Magnum version of the SOHC to perform better. We have
one member with at least 180hp and another with 172hp and more
projects are being finished everyday.
