hey all i have a big problem with the timing belt on my 84 omni. its
walking! the belt has actually moved from the center of the pully to
the outside and is rubbing/hitting something on the bottom near the
snow cover. we got the car with a blown headgasket so while we had it
apart we made a few upgrades heres what we did
>new 88 turbo cam with matching roller followers with correct
enclosed rear seal
>drilled/tapped/helicoiled head bolts to later 11mm (a major
hassel,would have been eaiser to get the later motor:))
>better head gasket
>got rid of air pump
and just last week we changed the oil/filter to Mobil 1 synthetic
with a fram filter(low oil light would stay on awile befor oil change
goes off immedialty now)
and i have a $40 K&N air filter on order will pick up towmarrow.
we thought about changeing the belt while we had it apart so we got a
new one but the old one looked good so we used it.HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!
