Re: [DML] Additional Photos of Bryan Pearce's HEIM Trailing Arm Joints

Yes, I am familiar with HEIM Joints. I called the HEIM Joint a Ball Joint,
which is evidently a faux pas. Oops. But I am not talking about the HEIM
Joint in that picture.

Please forgive me if I was unclear before. I believe you misunderstood. I
asked a question about what appear to be two stainless steel sleeves on
EITHER SIDE of the HEIM Joint. You can see them quite clearly in the
pictures that Bill posted links to.

My question is: are those ball-bearings, or just spacers, on either side of
the HEIM Joint?

I hope that's clear.

Thanks,
Farrar Hudkins

I have heim joints on my car. I use two for my alternator adjusting link. Makes it a lot easier to tighten the belt when I don't need a pry bar. It's also...

In some applications where you need to maximize the amount of movement allowed by the Heim joint you use a beveled spacer on both sides of the "ball" where the...

Bryan obviously used those rubber bushings for noise/vibration isolation. The thin washers are likely for rear end alignment. If you look closely at this pic...
