Sounds enticing but I'm savin my pennies for some VH Classics with the half
moon caps... sexy setup IMO. You know the set that's on the "Dressed Blues"
classic in the ads.

I have a set of Cobra slash cuts with about 2000 miles on them that I will part
with at a very resonable price ($150 installed). If you add a jet kit and a
Coyote kit you should blow his doors off (so to speak). And you will be
right about the 2bills mark.

I cruised the scoot down to Austin and San Antonio for work earlier this
week and thought I'd recap a great ride.
My riding partner was my dad and he's on a BMW R850R. We were to meet
at 5am south of Ft.Worth at the Crowley exit. I woke to hear my SO
asking me what time I was supposed to get up. Look at the clock and it
says 4:54am. Ahhuugaaa Ahhuuugaaa, jump up and in full panic mode, need
to be 45 miles in 2 minutes, where's that coyote kit when you need it!
Did not start my day off the way I had envisioned it. So I blasted thru
the mid cities and ended up meeting pops eatin donuts and 3 cup of
coffee. He's used to these kinda things I guess so didn't bother him
none.

We headed south on I35 to a 15-20mph head wind. Bouncin my head all
over and wishin that I had my moxy's. The worst part was after about
200 miles the wind was pryin at my legs and I had a hard time keeping
them together. I felt like a mexican whore with my legs wantin to splay
out. I'm hopin the lowers will help.

The ride to Austin was uneventful on the super-slab, too much
semi-turbulence though. Checked out the bike shops in Austin and got a
good route from the Hardley shop on back roads to San Antonio that
afternoon.
This was the highlight of the trip as we wound around Lake Travis, back
roads thru Dripping Springs, Wimberly, and Canyon Lake. Every time I'm
down there I say that I'm selling everything and moving the family.
Beautiful Texas country thats for sure.

My dad is a big scooter nut. He's had a bike since I can remember. He
likes to get one and compare it to the one he had, then trade it after a
few months for another and compare again, upgrading as he goes. He's
big into the stats of the performance of any bike out. Goes thru all
those comparison charts that show bhp, torque, top speed, rollon tests.
It's like he memorizes them and is always quotin them.

So he is telling me how his R850 can kick my 1500's ass, and I already
know this. He wants to do a 50mph rollon between our two bikes. I know
he'll pull me because on some hills he just walked away from me. So on
the rollon, I snick it down to 3rd and he can't hear it because of my
stealth-like stock pipes. He gives the nod and we stay close for the
first few seconds, then I pull steadily away up to 75. I close off the
throttle and snick back down to 4th. He's befuddled and can not figure
out why. We do a couple of more with the same results. Buggin the shit
out of him now. We go to eat and he's just rattling off all the spec's
between our 2 rides and can't figure it out. I let him go on. Later
that night in the hotel he's still bringing it up. Then as we're laying
there watching the tube, I say "3rd gear". He's up and sayin you MoFo
and wanting to go do it again on an even plane, both in top gear. I
just roll over grinin, knowin the only way to beat the old man is to
cheat.

So it's Wed now and time to head back. We leave the San Antonio office
at 5:30pm to head up 281 and it is fuckin Hot! I see a bank sign and it
shows 106! We pull into the new Quarry shoppin area and grab dinner and
hang out at Boarders Books until 7:30ish and then head up the road.

Great ride thru the hills at dusk. Went thru Marble falls as the sun
was setting and the whole area just had a golden glow to it. Started
think that I need to live here again. Blasted up a pretty deserted 281
and even more isolate after dark. Real nice and cool after 9pm. The
bugs were out in force and had a couple rifle shots that were probably
june bugs to the knees. Made it back to Grapevine about 11:30pm and was
glad to get off that stock seat that had my ass numb for the last 100
miles.

Well that was about it. That 281 trip definitely gets 2 thumbs up for
getting down there and back.

I hope you notice who I pick on and who I don't pick on. A good snake knows
when to freeze and lay low. Sometimes he can catch a rodent and sometimes he
just hides from one. hehehehehe

It appears based on a previous post:

X states: "As must happen in this situation, sides will be chosen. As a
nonwrench
who would like to reach out to the brethern, I side with the ashes. Any
bro
who has participated in the group hugs held during most rides will be
sadden
by the demise of one who reached out for help and was incinerated out of
hand. (Those who have missed the group hugs will rally to the rodent and
bring flower pots to collect fertilizer.) "

that X will be leading the group hug tomorrow morning. I will have my
camera to document the event. It is now official, he has found his inner
self and expressed it to the group, as so elequently stated, "...DFWVROC's
loveable enforcer.", Yes, and others, not mentioning any names, have also
confirmed they too have been in touch with their inner self. Coyote, you
can no longer deny the facts - get with the times.

I think it's now time to add some letters to X's nick - may I now
introduce: "XOXOXO" - for those who have long past their adolescence, this
means (hugs and kisses)

Prolly too much air. Check the reed valve hoses if plugged with something,
coaster if you put them on (gasket or not sealed right), manifold if you did
that nasty trick with the carb, or anywhere else extra air could invade the
cylinder.

This is utter BS. I specifically recall ..... someone, I think it was
Oldman, mentioning a ride "early" from Grandy's in Grapevine (feed chewy) to
Glenn Rose. I think the time was... say 8:00am? Get back on the road Coyote,
you need to let the wind blow the vacation out of your fur...

A farmer goes out one day and buys a brand new stud rooster for his
chicken coop. The young rooster walks over to the old rooster and says,
"Ok, old fellow, time to retire."

The old rooster says, "You can't handle all these chickens . . . look at
   what it did to me!"

The young rooster replies, "Now, don't give me a hassle about this. Time
for the old to step aside and the young to take over, so take a hike."

The old rooster says, "Aw, c'mon . . . just let me have the two old hens
over in the corner. I won't bother you."

The young rooster says, "Scram! Beat it! You're washed up! I'm taking
   over!"

So, the old rooster thinks for a minute and then says to the young
rooster, "I'll tell you what, young fellow, I'll have a race around the
farmhouse with you. Whoever wins the race gets domain of the chicken
   coop."

The young rooster says, "You know I'm going to beat you, old man, so
  just
to be fair, I'm even going to give you a head start."

They line up in back of the farm house, get a chicken to cluck "Go!" and
the old rooster takes off running. About 15 seconds later the young
   rooster
takes off after him. They round the front of the farm house and the
  young
rooster is only about 5 inches behind the old rooster and gaining fast.

The farmer, sitting on the porch, looks up, sees what's going on, grabs
his shotgun and BOOM!, he blows the young rooster to bits.

He sadly shakes his head and says, "Dammit, third gay rooster I bought
   this week!"

   Y'all are still confused.
    - Mon-Friday - work, go home, clean/fix/work on/whatever y'all do to bike
    - Sat-Sun - take clean/fixed bike and ride

Sounds like an assult on route 4, leaving from Grapevine, heading towards
Glen Rose is the plan. Oldman, pick spot/time.

    - Mongoose approachs from the East with sun in her eyes
       - 5'3" 102lbs with yuppy glasses and a torque wrench in her back pocket
    - Chewy approachs from the West as moving mountain, framed by sun
      - 6'2" 275lbs with tattoos rippling and a map held upside down
    - 6 foot apart, they stop, crouch, and breath deeply

Dream the dream or read the words, ......... you have just experienced the
  ultimate DFWVROC flame.

As must happen in this situation, sides will be chosen. As a nonwrench

Hey, I already installed a kit once (without Directions). I was just trying to
help the Wookie who is already in deep S&%t.
Mistakes up to this point include:
1. He read directions. No self respecting man/Wookie would do that unless
desperate.
2. He wrote an email on the internet asking for help from this esteemed group.
Another clear sign of desperation with a touch of insanity thrown in.

Hell, if we'd known he was doing this we could have video taped it as a training
aid to future Thunder Kit installers. We coulda sold several copies in Sturgis
except I suspect it woulda had to be R rated due to profanity and violence.

If the Millineum Falcon is still a hopeless pile of parts by Saturday morning,
we may stop over for entertainment and provide assistance if necessary. I
suspect the Wookie will come through and it'll be runnin by sometime Saturday
morning.

Don't know of any plans yet. Chewy's bike will probably still be down Saturday
morning. I may run over to help him if it is. I think Slash has some kind of
camp to go to so Oldman may be open. I'm up for early morning because it gets
damned hot by about noon.

Might as well through a party Coyote! If ya get a time, and directions, I'll
come over and encourage Oldman to laugh some more. The Sheriff and I took
lessons from Oldman already, so I can tell you what NOT to do. hehehehe
