Erran, You should look at torque as well as horsepower. You'll find the torque on an XR400 far above the 125. Torque is what gets you over roots and rocks....
I don't know how the horsepower compares between the 125 2s vs. 400 4s. I would think that either bike is perfectly capable of propelling a 200+ Lbs person....
