Ah, having a teenager- why have a car of your own to work on! New
issue, we now have a smoked clutch- car will ahve to sit until he
can afford the parts, but there's a lot of options- one of which is
a used one- firstly, does anyone have a cross-reference list for
clutch parts from other VW's for a 91 g60?

Are there and websites that would have specs on the drivetrain I can
look at until we do this?

I don't mind getting a used pressureplate and disc, with a new
thowout bearing and used fork (I can almost bet he needs one too).
It also wouldn't hurt him to do it once with me then do the nextt
one himself. (or just collect them like wall art).

Given the driver's proclivities, does anyomne have a good
recommendation for a new set-up by brand but not the most expensive?
