No, it's not really worth the time and effort unless you have nothing else to do - there are plenty of 4.0L in-line 6 cyl versions available for the same price...

The NP231 is out of a 92 Wrangler and the Cherokee is a 89 or 90 depending on which one we get. I see that there is a difference on the cut of the input gears ...

well the input gear for the cherokee should be a short 21 spline on the cherokee and a long 23 spline on the wrangler case. You will need to find a 21 spline...

Bryan, have you just considered trimming off the offending area that might be rubbing under full compression or when turning? It's better to keep the COG lower...

If you don't already have a 'puck' spacer on the coils and a longer leaf spring shackle, that's all that you'll need. A 1" coil spring spacer, and a 1" lift...
