I recently purchased hood holds for my 1937 Cadillac and had my
mechanic install them, but he couldn't do it because they weren't
working properly he said.  He said that when you go to shut the hood,
they are supposed to get pushed down by the hood, but they only go down
part way and you would have to reach in under the hood and push them
down with your hand.  He thinks that there is somethign else that goes
with them - possibly something that attaches to the hood that pushes
them down?  Does anyone know what I am talking about?

There is another guy who lives in SF who is going to let me come by
next week or the week after to look at his when he gets it back from
the shop, but in the meantime, I'm still trying to see if anyone knows
exactly what I am talking about and can help me find the missing link.

1955 Cadillac Convertible.  What a head turner this car is!  In
summary, its a nice running car that is ready to be enjoyed
immediately.  It has a newer 1960's vintage Cadillac engine and
transmission.  It has been mildly customized with the hood and trunk
being louvered, dummy spots, and fender inserts from I what I believe
to be from a 50's Buick.

There are some areas of rust on the body and in the trunk.  Passenger
window not operating.  Gas gauge and Speedometer also not working.
Dual Electric cooling fans in place of original. I suggest call me to
discuss the details on this car.  Currently registered and insured in
the State of Rhode Island.

I promise the photos have been unaltered and reflect the actual readings.
If somebody else doctored the speedo, I wouldn't know.  My guess is the old,
dead guy who
owned it probly drove it until it reached 58585 then set the TRIP ODO to 888.8 (
which is really easy to do)
But perhaps the spirit world is influencing things...
(When did you visit the spirit world last, Mr. Cousineau?)
(BTW, loved those aquatic nature specials your relative Jacques did decades
ago.)
(Or was it the inept Inspector from the Pink Panther movies?)

You can change your email settings by clicking Edit Membership At the top of the main page.
Special notices you will only get the chat reminders, and important announcements
Individual Email The option to choose if you want to get each group message and special notice individually and immediately, as it is posted.
Daily Digest The option to choose if you want to see all messages but limit the amount of email you receive. We'll compile an email of up to 25 messages and send daily (special notices too!).

Reading messages on the board


Click messages on left,At the top are the settings.It will say Messages: Simplify | Expand (Group by Topic)or Topics (List as Individual Messages)..
Messages Last Posted on upper right will give the count time posted.

For sale / Wanted items, put "for sale" or "wanted" in the subject.

Then you can click the links ont the main page to view View For sale items or View wanted items
