I recently purchased hood holds for my 1937 Cadillac and had my
mechanic install them, but he couldn't do it because they weren't
working properly he said. He said that when you go to shut the hood,
they are supposed to get pushed down by the hood, but they only go down
part way and you would have to reach in under the hood and push them
down with your hand. He thinks that there is somethign else that goes
with them - possibly something that attaches to the hood that pushes
them down? Does anyone know what I am talking about?

There is another guy who lives in SF who is going to let me come by
next week or the week after to look at his when he gets it back from
the shop, but in the meantime, I'm still trying to see if anyone knows
exactly what I am talking about and can help me find the missing link.
