There are also more opertunity to join other group rides or

Hi All,
I wanted to check in and say hello as I have not been faithful lately to visiting this site.
I have done something that you all may find offensive. That is I have crossed over to the other side and bought a Yamaha Vstar 1100! I wish I could have kept my Majesty but I could not justify keeping both and right now I am having a
great time riding the Vstar.
Because I no longer have my scooter, I was wondering if any of you would like to take over as moderator of this group? It is a great way to communicate and plan rides and it would be a shame to let the site go. There really is nothing to being the moderator. Occasionally you have to go in a delete a member who tries to advertise...but other than that..piece of cake.
Maybe at some point I will be able to afford to have my Vstar and another scooter. If so, I would like to get a bigger one like a Silverwing or Burg. Until then I hope one of you might step up and moderate the group. I would like to stay on as a member because I have a true passion for maxi scooters.
I sold my Maj for a very good price to a nice gal in San Mateo who absolutely loves it. She was riding a Honda Elite 80 scooter back and forth to work everyday in the bay area. She loves her new Maj.
Anyway, I hope to
hear from some of you and hope that you will use this site to plan local rides. Take care, Kelly

I don't know exactly how far it is, little over 200 miles I expect, just run
down 71 highway all the way.

I rode down to Fayettville, AR to the 6th annual Jim Beam *Bikes -
Blues - & BBQ* Cycle Rally!!
Cool Mel,
sounds like a lot of fun. How far of a ride is that for you?
Kelly
Thursday morning about 6:30 AM with temperature in the low 40's Ralph Campbell (Harley Rider) and I rode down to Fayettville, AR to the 6th annual Jim Beam *Bikes - Blues - & BBQ* Cycle Rally!! Their web site said there were over 200,000 attended the rally in 04 and I am sure there were lots more than that this year!
I was the only guy there on a AN 650 Suzuki Burgman Scooter, a bad knee and a cane but I bet I ENJOYED seeing the multitude of bikes & people & vendors as much as any of them!!!
We reserved a couple rooms at the Motel 6 for Thursday night but there were none available after that and by noon Friday I had Enjoyed about all I could stand and I headed for home and I met thousands of bikes southbound.
We sure enjoyed it and plan to make that an every year event. With that many bikes parking real close side by side and a constant stream cruising the strip I never saw an accident or any violence but did see a lot of Sights and beautiful high priced bikes and a lot of loud exhausts.
Leroy,
Oh Sh** Leroy, sounds like a great ride and I would love to get one
more ride in before knee surgery, but I've got a meeting to do that
weekend. You put together some great rides.

There's a chill in the air and the foliage is beginning to change

beautiful this time of year. Here are the details. Hope to see you

nice Pics! Would you mind posting a few here in the photo section? I

Thanks,

Hi Bill,
yes, those Ferrys are so cool. The cable one can be very dangerous to
boats as that cable lifts out of the water and there have been some
very serious accidents to boaters who were not paying attention. I am
so disappointed that Mark and I could not attend, but so glad to hear
that it was such a great time. Hope we can all meet up again soon.

Hi All
Pics look great and it looks like a fun ride. I wish I had made it.
We got my girlfriend a Piagio BV200 this weekend and I was busy
giving driving lessons.
I see a ride on your ride page for next month. Hopefully we can both
make it. :)
Mike
It was great seeing other scooters on the ride. The
ferry boats were neat. That cable pulled ferry had an
interesting landing... with that violent jerking back
into position at last moment to line up with the dock.
The price for the ferry rides was just right, free.
The neat part of the levee roads is that you can look
down on the scenery on both sides.

SF Bay Area Ride - A Reminder
This Saturday, the 17th, you are invited to a group maxi-scooter ride
through the North Bay (San Francisco) wine country, visiting wineries,
cheese factory, etc. in Sonoma/Napa.
The group will meet at 8:30am at Eduardo's in San Rafael for those who
wish to eat breakfast and leave there at 10:00am for the ride.
Please email me directly (reinaldo@...) and I will respond
with a map to Eduardo's restaurant. This will also let me prepare maps
for each person and other information.
Reinaldo
Leroy,
Thanks again for putting the ride together; great route, great
weather, great company.

All maxi-scooter riders are invited to a ride through the Sonoma/Napa
wine country on September 17, Saturday. Most of the ride will be on
back roads but key parts will be on the freeway. Other than this
condition, every kind of scooter brand is welcome.
We will meet at Eduardo's in San Rafael at 8:30am for those who want
breakfast, and leave at 10:00am to ride through the wine country,
stopping at three wineries, a cheese factory, etc. Late lunch at the
Two-Niner Diner at Petaluma Airport, the home of the best hamburger I
have ever eaten and home cut french fries. Those who want to continue
will then go on over to the coast and ride back that way, probably
arriving back at Eduardo's at about 5pm. Those who wish can leave the
ride after the lunch and be back by about 3pm.
Please email me for more information or to let me know that you wish
to be included. I will respond with a map to Eduardo's and prepare
enough route maps and information packets for everybody.
Reinaldo
Man Leroy,
I am soooo upset that Mark and I can't attend. My daughter's birthday
is that weekend and she is coming home from college. What a total
bummer! (Well, I won't tell her that..ha!) Now that the weather is a
little more bearable maybe we can plan something again soon.
Have a great time...all of you..and think of me and Mark (smiling as we
watch her blow out the candles all the while wishing we were in Rio
Vista!)
