Hey Race Fans,
Our LASAAC 18th Annual Spring Open Track Event at Willow Springs International Raceway is this coming weekend.
We'd like to thank everyone who sent in their application already . . . it really makes it a lot easier for us in the long run, we appreciate it!!
** There will be NO LATE FEE CHARGED FOR THIS WEEKEND, so come on up and join in the fun!!
For those of
you that haven't sent in your applications yet, you can help us by
filling them out ahead of time and bringing them up with you
on Saturday and/or Sunday. Yes, there are still spots
available, it looks like we'll have a lower than usual turnout, so there
should be lots of wide-open-track available to strut your stuff! For an application; http://www.lasaac.org/~lasaac/files/u2/open_track_registration_-_May_2009.pdf (cut and past to browser)
It can be cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon, don't forget a jacket, sun lotion, hat and some folding chairs. There's concessions at the track or you can pack a lunch.
Please read the tech sheet: If you have a carburated vehicle you'll need two return springs on the carburator. Don't forget your helmet and also a fire extinguisher securely mounted with a metal bracket(no bungee cords or zip-ties). Convertibles must have a rollbar. Saturday's tech inspection is from 7 to 8AM, the driver's meeting is at 8:15AM. We will have instructors available at the track and there's no extra charge for this, please use their expertise, they're there to help you. See ya Saturday morning!!
BTW - Some people have been experiencing a problem finding the "metal brackets" for their fire extinguishers, so we tryed an internet search. Go to your favorite "search engine"(Google, Yahoo . . .) Do a search for "Yellow Pages" (or you can go to your own phone book's Yellow Pages) or . . . http://www.yellowpages.com/. Type in "fire extinguisher" and your favorite nearby city. " Los Angeles " produced 259 businesses related to "fire extinguishers". There are many places to mount an extinguisher without drilling into the car, any bolt that holds a seat-belt or a seat bracket can be a location to secure a bracket and attach the extinguisher to the bracket. Even lifting the plastic on a door-sill could reveal a couple of screws to mount the bracket to. john@... www.h4lights.com 310.961.2720v 860.239.2602f |
