Dale Teague at Boxer4racing (in Marshall, NC...just north of Asheville) is always a great choice for WNC area Subaru work. He definitely knows his stuff and has been working on Subarus for nearly his entire life. :)
A car dealer, friend of mine bought a 02 WRX with aftermarket Turbo and intercooler. It has problems supposedly air/fuel.Brain/Electonic has been replaced and hoses/ air leaks checked. Can't get any locals to correct problem. Does anyone know Guru to diagnose/ correct? He has about 9M in this car.

Dave has agreed to come down and meet with us about starting a new
chapter of CCR in Greenville/Spartanburg/Western Carolinas. We have tentaively
agreed on JUNE 14th and are planning to have the meeting at Ryan's on Laurens Road in Greenville (MOTOR MILE)
at 6:30 PM. We'll eat first and then talk so if you can't make it early, still
come for the meeting. Please check back on this forum next week to make sure we
can meet in the private banquet hall at Ryans.
SPREAD THE WORD and let's get a good crowd. This is NOT just for
autocrossers... this is for roadracers, rallist, ricers and sports car lovers
interested in being part of a new chapter of CCR. Make sure it is understood ;
there is no effort nor is there any desire to take sites or members from SCR.
This IS an opportunity to grow the club, create some fellowships with people of
like mind and faith and be able to stay in this area to run events and get
together. THAT would be a
niiiiiiiiiiice!
For this to work, we need to show there is substantial interest in this area.
There is no benefit to start this and then let it dwindle away. Please invite
friends, come with ideas for locations and come willing to share a part of
responsibility for making it work as leader, as a committee member or as a
active member.
PLEASE RSVP.... let me know who
and how many are coming! Please email me with that info.
JUNE 14th 6:30 PM Laurens Road RYANS
(location still subject to change until banquet room confirmed)
Thanks! Call or write with questions. I'll be where I can answer them next Monday...
Special thanks to Scott and Dave and Todd for pushing this and getting the ball
rolling. Look forward to seeing you there!!!

Rich,
Well done with the solo tech on the 20th. I attended, without car, as
a spectator so I could be better prepared for the upcoming season. I'm
looking forward to the newbie track / learning days. I was the kid
(23) who drove up in a silver audi a4 and hung out and met some
drivers.
While at the tech I met Nate, he had an 04 or 05 Subaru STI, grey if I
remember correctly. He was sporting new seats (sparco look alikes),
exhaust, new wheels (bronzish gold), and some nice brembo calipers. I,
unfortunately, neglected to get his e-mail. I was hoping you could
look this up for me. Phone or e-mail work. Cheers.
Sincerely,
Nicholas George
The rules: You must be a member of the SCCA. You must have autocrossed with CCR for a full season (minimum of 6 events). During that season, you must have brought a car to tech that has passed every time (didn't have to be the same car). You must have real numbers (at least 8 inches tall) and class letters (at least 4 inches tall). No tape or window marker. HIGHLY recommended that you own a copy of the SCCA SOLO rules. HIGHLY recommended that you own a helmet. Your helmet must be rated SNELL M, SA or K 95 or newer.
What to bring: Your car, in good mechanical condition. Race tires are not needed at the annual tech inspection. Your SNELL 95 or newer rated helmet. Your numbers and class letters. Your annual tech form.
We are going to try and have reserved numbers for the 2007 season. To have a reserved number you must have an annual tech and be a member of CCR. Reserved numbers are only for CCR members.
While CCR will be doing annual tech inspections at the first few events, it is hoped that everyone in the area will stop by Folger so we can get a large number of annual inspections complete before the season begins.
YOU are responsible for removing all loose items, driver side floor mat, lug nut torque and tire condition.
Remember, getting an annual tech does not mean that we will not spot check your car at an event. If your car is checked at an event and does not pass tech, we can pull your annual tech sticker.
And don't forget that we do honor other clubs annual techs. If you are in a club like SCR, NCR, Triad or TSCC that gives out annual techs, in a way that we can see (a sticker), then we will honor their annual tech and you don't need to go through the line at each event. Just make sure you talk to one of the tech inspectors at the event.
The CCR #4 autocross (May)
has been approved by Continental Tire plant management for Sunday, May
13th. This is due to the Inaugural. Wolf Ridge Hill Climb being scheduled
for 20 May, 2007. Also Knights is not available 13 May. Brian Gause CCR/SCCA

As far as what you need – I would
recommend you go to the CCRSCCA.com site and click on forums. There is a
novice forum that has a lot of information on how to prep for an event.
Mainly, you need a car in decent mechanical condition, remove all loose items,
make sure battery is tightly mounted, throttle return spring works, good
brakes, tight wheel lugs, etc.

Thanks for the suggestion Bill, I didn’t
think about P1. I’ve know Bob for years, he was (I guess still is) a

stop by and harass Jack one day…

Rich,
Sorry, but I don't know of any Azenis. Try P 1 Automotive in
FortMill or might be in Indian

and always had a large stock of used tires. Maybe because their tire mounting
equipment is very high teck.

"Please join us at the Solo Meeting and Social on October 30th at
7PM. The location this month will be Ri-Ra's Irish Pub on N. Tryon
Street - Downtown Charlotte.
In addition to having fun and sharing some bar racing we will
discuss a few issues of interest to the CCR Solo community:
- Future Solo Chair to replace Steven Rankins. We have a volunteer -
Dave McKenzie! Others??
- Updates to the Website. This has been a continuing issue this year
as we have tried to use the CCR website to spread information to the
Solo community.
- Upcoming Board of Directors Elections - We have 4 candidates from
our Solo group. Come on out and meet them.
Plus - We have one event remaining, with several championships still
up for grabs. Come on out and enjoy some bench/bar racing between
the challengers - Sorry, but no points are awarded during the
social."
