That may be. Here's the choice I have for the group:

Yes or No: Allow members to hide their email address from the
group. Members who hide their email address will not be able to
post messages via email. Once you have selected this option, you may
not change it later.

I originally chose to keep email addresses public. Now I'm
rethinking this. If you want to post via eMail, I suppose you would
have the option if I selected "yes" and allowed others to hide their
email address. If anyone has an opinion now is the time to say. As
the decision may not be reversed ;-)

Is this RV park modeled after the ones at Hinkley,MN and Marksville,
LA? Those two RV parks are very nice.

We stopped at a little casino yesterday just to see what they're like.
They are limited to no more than 10 machines; they're privately-owned
but are tied into the state lottery system. I think the lottery gets
something like 30%. (This doesn't apply to Indian casinos, or to
casinos in Deadwood). We played a little Deuces Wild, but the pay
tables aren't very good, so only stayed a short time.

Hey, glad to have you as a member! Come back and post a trip report,
sounds like you may have some interesting trips to tell about.

We're in East Texas now, waiting for some RV repairs. We had planned
to take a few weeks to travel across TX, NM, AZ, and arrive in Las
Vegas in time for the Poker School Online convention -
www.pokerschoolonline.com - in early July.

Well, Chris told me today that Reno is calling her name :-) So we're
thinking about making a dash across country on Memorial Day weekend
and getting into Las Vegas on 5/29. It all depends on whether the RV
repairs are complete this week. We have two hydraulic jacks on order
to replace two bad ones. (Remember, never park at a casino if
anything is leaking from your RV!!)

As I write this, Chris is practicing FPDW on the WinPoker.

Thanks! The ones in Sioux Falls tend to be the size of a c-store, and
barely have parking for a few cars, so RV parking is not an option. If
we have time this weekend, we'll check out some of the gaming.

Hi Pat,

I haven't found much info on South Dakota. The vpFREE group doesn't
have a listing for the state (which isn't a good sign if you're
looking for full-pay video poker).

Info I've found says SD casinos have limits on how many machines one
casino can have, so they will tend to be small. They do have table
games with a $100 max bet, so Blackjack, Spanish 21 or Craps is
probably the best wager available. This is from internet searching,
since I've never been to SD myself.

If you visit some casinos in SD let us know what you discover about
RV parking conditions, and your opinion of the casinos in general.

Thanks!

Mac

We stayed at the fairgrounds in Harrington. There is a casino in the
racetrack. There are plenty of RV hookups with water and electric (for
a fee) and a dump station at the fairgrounds. The casino wasn't much
and the buffet was small but the food was good. The phone number I
have for the fairground is (302)398-3269

Hi Paul,

I've heard that Dover Downs and Midway allow free RV overnight
parking, but no confirmations yet from readers. If you visit there
I'd love to get your report and opinion.

Hopefully somone who has been there will respond.

I hope someone can answer this too. We have a great report on the
web site from last year, and based on that Chris and I had planned
to visit The Mill if possible this summer:

******************************

Mac, you might be in luck...when we were there last year in the middle of
September, they were just clearing off the space where the RV park is to go.
I don't know how long it takes to complete a park, but with all the rain the
Northwest received this past winter, perhaps their work was delayed.

Hi Linda,

I see Chris and I have a lot in common with you two.   We like casinos, buffets, our Datastorms, and blogging!

I've met several people who gamble very little, or not at all, who still enjoy short stops at casinos.  Free parking (or good rates in the RV park) and good food are two reasons.

Welcome to the group.

Thanks Pat!

Each casino is different, and actions that are OK at one are not
allowed (or maybe just not appropriate) at others. I hope everyone
feels that the guidelines make good sense.

Hi Pat,

Welcome! What are your favorite camping/parking locations in Las
Vegas?

Last year we stayed in the RV park on Nellis AFB in NLV. But this
trip we're planning to spend a night or two in several different
places.

I just learned about this group from another of the Yahoo Groups to which I belong.

While my husband and I are not gamblers, we do stay at casinos on occasion, and usually partake of their buffet or eat at one of their restaurants.

This casino used to allow free camping in their large parking lot.  The last time we were there (last summer), they were in the process of putting in an RV park.  I don't know whether or not they've finished the work, but I wonder whether or not they will still allow overnight parking in their lot...anyone know?

I just took a quick look at your website, casinocamper.com, and hope
that all here will abide by your excellent guidelines on Casino Camping
Etiquette. I'd hate to see us lose the privilege of parking in casino
lots due to the actions of a small handful who abuse the privilege.

Hi! Just found this group referenced on another board - GREAT idea!
We are FTers and love casino camping. Also love Video Poker. We've
spent some time casino camping in Las Vegas over the years, and hope to
do so again this coming winter. I look forward to participating and
learning here.

Hi,

Welcome Lia! Glad you joined the group. It will be great to have
the benefit of your experience with the Las Vegas area.

I bet Jim enjoys all those food comps you get too ;-)

Glad you started this. Lived in Nevada for 30 and LOVE slot machines -
like the older one better than all the video machines now. Oh well I
loved the OLD Harold's Club now long gone, went there first in the late
40's. Have done a lot of Casino parking and as I am still a Las Vegas
property owner have expressed my opinion of the Clark CO ordinance to
local and state reps. We stay on Boulder Hwy - usually Sam's Town
since they have phone at each site but have spent a night or two at a
casino. Hope to see your membership grow

PS My husband Jim doesn't gamble so stays in coach and hopes I hit a
big one to buy him a new coach.

Hi,

This forum is an extension of the www.casinocamper.com web site.
The
intended use is to provide a forum for discussion of topics related
to
both RV Travel and Casinos.

We're RV travelers ourselves, and we enjoy gambling as a hobby.
We're
also frugal gamblers, and frugal travelers. We spend many weeks a
year at casinos, both in casino RV parks, and dry-camped in free
casino parking areas.

Guidelines:

Please be sure to read the legal stuff, located in a separate post
by
that title.

Please stay on topic. Please be nice to each other, and no foul
language.
