Need Help - DOT4 Brake Fluid issue   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #176 of 196 |
I thoroughly flushed out my DOT4 fluid brake system a little less than a YEAR
ago, replacing with Fresh, unopened DOT4.
A routine inspection this week showed something GREENISH 'growing' in the bottom
of my Master Cylinder.
If it were BROWNISH or REDDISH I could easily diagnose RUST in the cast-iron
master cylinder and go on about the business
of flushing again, albeit disappointed in the relatively short life of the DOT4
fluid.
However, the color, texture, and overall appearance of the ALGAE-??? in the
bottom of the Master Cylinders 2 reservoirs led me to
keep the drained fluid for further examination. Here is the fluid plus *mystery
stuff* as digicammed just today:

Will somebody PLEASE tell me what is going on here??
