thats a good question.....a $134 wire part to me sounds like a servo or solenoid. see if you can look at the new part or see if the parts guy can describe it...

I'm having the same problem w/ my "85...was going to look at the OD relay...figured relays tend to cause intermittent problems as well as the connectors ...

I drive mine every day to work in the morning it wount shift to OD till the temp of the motor reaches over 160 that may be a couincidence the other day I drove...

well, according to the book, it has to be the switch in the shifter or the console, whichever you have. i can see one getting sticky and not wanting to work...
