Description

This Yahoo Group is for owners of the 1981 R100CS imported into the US and Canada. I have owned S/N 6188073 since new in June 1981. I acquired S/N 6188103 in November, 2001 and finished restoring it in September, 2006. Although there were 4038 of these made by BMW between September 1980 and August, 1984, only 163 were imported to the US and Canada. I have always been curious about the whereabouts of, and an accounting of, the remaining North American 1981 R100CS's still on the road. These 67 HP (70 HP in the rest of the world) motorcycles weighed all of 441 pounds (dry), all were BMW Color Code 506 and their serial numbers all began with 6188. Let's see how many we can come up with on this 28th anniversary of the model. Maybe I'll see you at a Rally or two this summer. Thanks...

Wow this list is quiet.....
4 years and no posts of significance, so I just thought I would say hi and "yep, still have me bike". Seems to see more R100CS action on the airheads list, but
