andy, i checked my r27 repair manual and found that it said what your's did. the r25,r25/2 repair manual, however, gives the rear end as 6/27 teeth (4.5:1)....

The slinger is insurance. It is there to keep dirt from ruining the bearings. It's cheap. Buy a new one. BartW....

Kim, I'd check into the other dimensions of those two washer as well. From memory it isn't a standard size washer, for instance the hole is quite small...

Kim, Ben is right. The two purposes of the washers are to keep the steel sleeves inside the rubber mounts from burrowing into the alloy timing cover casting...
