The autocross MGB was performing well this weekend, with 4 clubmembers
signed up to make runs, but on the fifth run the rear end gave up.
Looks like the pinion broke.

Does anyone out there have an extra rear end we can put in the Green B?

British Memorial Day Services - Monday, May 28th
10:00am Oak Ridge Cemetery in Arcadia, FL

On Monday May 28th, 2007 - citizens of the U.S. observed Memorial
Day. A day set aside for us to remember for all those who have
fought to protect our country's freedom.

As has become custom for BCCSWF members, we will make our annual
sojourn to the Oak Hill Cemetery in Arcadia, FL. Why this
particular destination? To pay our respects to the 23 RAF pilots who
gave their lives while training for the fight to protect their
homeland's freedom and are now interned in Oak Hill. British custom
is that their fighting men and woman be buried in the county where
they die.

There will be two meeting places:

1] Home Depot on Coloinal Blvd at 7:45am - leaving at 8:00 sharp
to caravan to...

2] Jones Loop Road [exit off I-75] - meeting in the McDonald's
parking lot. Be there at 8:30am and we will leave as soon as the
first group gets there. From there we can caravan to the services a
club.

If you have one - please wear your BCCSWF club shirt. Please bring a
chair, hat, and drink - it will be sunny and hot.

We will do lunch Harpoon Harry's after the services, plan on joining
us [around noon]. For more info, feel free to call Jerry Wilcox

The Annual British Car Club Picnic is Sunday (March 25)

Gary and Sonny are Grilling burgers, dogs & chicken, bring a side dish
and something to drink.

As Gary said at the monthly meeting "mandatory attendance", but
please let us know you are coming, so that he can get the proper
amount of food supplies.

A caravan of cars will meet at Lowes(6 mile Cypress and Colonial
Blvd.) and leave at noon to the Olga Locks on the Caloosahatchee
River in E Ft. Myers.

We have a reserved covered picnic area, the weather is predicted to
be warm and partly cloudy, a lot better than last year.

Get out and make sure your car is ready to go, you still have a few
days to get any problems remedied.

See You Sunday, Jerry

To all ye friends;  I am sorry to not be able to defend my Horseshoe Championship.  It pains me to miss this wonderful event.  Unfortunately, I will be in a lonely pit being made to listen to warbling sopranos as I am surrounded by brass tubing of all shapes and sizes.  Such is the lot of a working musician....
I will hoist a cold brew in your honor.  Drive on, brave BCCSWF, drive on.

Club Meeting: Tuesday, March 13, 2007
Where: Famous Dave's BBQ, Fort Myers
Happy hours - Dinner: 6:00 - 7:00 pm
Meeting Starts: 7:00 pm

Well Folks, we have outgrown the Steak & Ale. Last month over 40
people attended the Club meeting, and the room was FULL.

So, John and Carol Mellor searched high and low, visiting many
places, talking to tons of people and came up with a winner for the
March 13 meeting place that has: 1) plenty of room, 2) quiet area for
meeting, 3) good food, 4) fast service, & 5) adult beverages.

So, our March 13 meeting will be held at Famous Dave's BBQ on US 41
[S. Cleveland Avenue] - just north of Crystal Drive [just a few
blocks north of the Steak & Ale - on the other side of the road].

The menu will be "Whole Hog" [$12.49 + tax per person], Drinks and
desert extra.

BBQ Spare Ribs (3 ribs)
Roasted or BBQ Chicken (1/4 chicken)
Georgia Chopped Pork (1 Sandwich)
World Famous Wilbur Beans
Creamy Coleslaw or Potato Salad

When you get there - the food will be ready - you order drinks, get
your plate, and they will 'load' you up with the food. No waiting
forever to get your order in and then food. Come early or get there
just before the meeting starts - the food will be ready for you.

Hope to see everyone there - and bring a guest - there will be plenty
of room. If you could email me and give me an idea of the number in
your party so that we can give them a ballpark figure on the number
attending, that would be GREAT!

Does anyone have any information, diagrams, photos or anything for the
convertible top for a '63 Midget? This top is one of the earliest for
the Midgets. It does not clamp onto the windshield as other models
do. At the rear, it attaches by an anchor bar which slides under a
couple of grommets on the body, and a couple of snaps on each side. At
the front, the top attaches to a Tenex stud at the top outer edge of
the windshield frame on each side. There is a small header rail which
then folds over the windshield frame and fits into a gap between the
windshield frame and the glass itself. I have the directions for
putting this type of top on, but photos and parts are seemingly
nonexistant. This front retainer bar or header rail is thinner than
the ones used on later models and per the owner manual instructions
appears to be a telescoping type. HELP!!!! Any ideas??? Thanks for
your input!

I've been to Famous Dave's for such a meeting in the past. Very good
food, good service and the room is large enough for us! Plus, noise
from "other parties" doesn't flow over into the room. I'm all for it
(and I made it out of the Minnesota snow blizzard!).

It would not hurt to try a larger place, where the food would be
quicker, less cost, and BBQ is great anytime.
