My opinion. Don't use a bus tranny in your highboy. The shift linkage runs above the center hump and for show and daily driving you wont need it. Beef up...

you dont have to run the shift linkage above the tunnel. My first baja all i did was weld a second shift linkage coupler to the orginal one and it worked...
