Sorry, Paul, but I'm from the Southeast.  For more oval racing info, I expect doing a Google search for MMRA and checking their schedule would be the best suggestion. 
As far as motor oils, most folks around here have Hank Scott modified engines.  Google Hank Scott and give him a call.  I know that he suggests 20w50 for break in.  Don't recall when to change and what to change to.
