Anyone else have an issue with the way their 07 (and newer) Tundra rides?
My truck beats you to death at fwy speeds unless the pavement is very smooth.
If there are any expansion joints, it feels like the rear tires are actually
bouncing.

My 04 does the same thing, sometimes so badly it kicks the cruise control off.
I've noticed it has gotten progressively worse over the last year. I originally
thought I had a tire out of balance but I had them balanced and they found none
out..

I get a horribly rough ride on my 08 4x4 on those expansion joints in
bad condition. Hard to take it. I had a 2000 Tundra 4x4 I traded in
and it drove like a limo over those same roads. Old tundra drove like
a Lexus, new one like a UPS van.

I was hoping someone with a 4X4 would say their's rode like a Lexus so
I could trade mine in on a 4X4 - thanks for killing all hope :)
2 Toyota dealers and a rep said it was normal. It's also chewing up tires.
I've started the process of trying to get this thing bought back by
Toyota. This just kills me, because I'm sure a different set of
springs and shocks would resolve this issue.

I have a 07 crewmax 4X4 SR5. no noticeable hop. Mine does wear tires
also....This is a concern with pretty much all Toyota trucks and SUV's. It is
just the design of the srub radius that they have built into the trucks. Nothing
you can do about it. Some truck and tire combinations don't wear as bad as
others.I did hear that the TRD had that problem. It is nothing more than a
higher rate spring then ever before and a lighter bed.

Folks,
I've lost track of who started this thread, but this is for
him. I have an '07 SR5 Tundra 4X4 with extended cab and
long bed. It rides like a dream on the highway, I wouldn't
change a thing about the ride quality.

It's 400lbs of weight for over $500.
I never imagined I'd need to pay for 400 lbs of scrap iron and the gas to haul
it around when I bought my $30k for my truck.

I have been driving 4X4 pick-ups [for work to some extent] for nearly
40 years, and I find that my '07 TRD short bed ride on concrete roads
is normal. I have Big O 10 ply tires on it, and that stiffend up the
ride a bit, but I expected it.
In the end, we are driving trucks, with little weight over the rear
wheels [poor weight distribution] so this is to be expected. I do have
an across-the-bed tool box [full of stuff] and two spares up in the
bed, but that is not enough to make a difference in the ride.
