better to stick with the german recommended stuff
at yer VW/Audi Dealer
don't know the spec off hand but it's likely the stuff that comes in
the square canister(VW branded).
No need to go with synthetic unless the original spec said so.
By now your problem is fixed but it's always good to check for a
recall. You can either ask your Audi Dealer w/ your VIN or see:

& it's always interesting to check what tech bulletins are available
for your vehicle - whether it's been fixed or not but if it is
recognized by the manufacturer, likely it'll be listed here.
