I know that it is not the proper way to fix it, but it looks like changing it
the right way is beyond my capabilites/tools.

The car only travels a few hundred miles a year & even if the boot only lasts a
year or 2 that would be fine.

I have had some short term success with split boots in the past. Even though
most people swear against them & they are hard to find sometimes.

The pass side outer boot has a small tear & looks fairly recent with very little
grease out yet. Joint seems fine.

Its a 2 dr sedan, 4 speed car if that matters.
