Gene, that really sucks!! How are you?? I see you can still type, but how's

the rest of you? Did you have full coverage on the bike?...I think I've just got

liability & collision on mine...makes me think about changing...I hope you're

lived in lansing mi for 3 years moved here last july and i need
someone who knows the area to ride with. I was hoping this group will
be taking rides together when the wheather breaks. i like the idea of
an all sporter group the people i rode with in michigan had 6

Just wanted to join up with an area Sportster group. Have a
2003 Buell XB9s set up for drag racing, its for sale. Also
have a 96 XL883 that is my current rider also For Sale. Hope
to build my dream Sportster Street Tracker using an XB9
motor and Chromoly frame.
Hope to hookup with someone going to XL-list rally at KC in
September.
I am 63, Christian Minister and love the Sportster/Buell

Yea get the bike running and sounding right again and this is the
weather we get :-( Well you all remember the story, cruising around
285 and it cuts off. Found out that all 8 nuts that hold the jugs down
came loose. On top of that the head bold were a quarter turn out.
Caused the valves and rods to not seat properly. Then I got the bright
idea that I'd try to follow the instructions in the book and adjust
them myself (Bad idea). So this guy Gary from Craigs list emails me
and says he'll take a look at it. He adjusted the valves, tweaked the
carb a bit and it's running like a champ now, he even minimized the
annoying popping from the pipes when I back off the throttle. We did
find that I am in DIRE need of a new carb though. The one that's on it
is just too worn out to even think about rebuilding. Thank the gods
that there's a swap meet coming up next month. Hope to see some or all
of you at this one.

Thanks to my buddy Gary who drove all the way up from Stockbridge to
do some tweaking on it the old Sporty is running pretty damn good now.
Found out that I need a new carb for it but that's beside the point.
I'm back in the saddle again!!! So who's up for going for a ride?? LOL

Same thing, runs but sounds like crap and rattles like crazy. Very
little power, top end is like 55mph now instead of near 100mph like it
should be even with my big butt on it. Everyone I talk to about it is
either too far away or wants WAY too much to work on it.
