Sonic Bike Night in Stone Mountain

I've been able to get a bike night started at the Sonic on Hwy 78 between Stone
Mountain and Snellville. I would like ALL Members to show up for this please.
This will be the first of hopefully many bike nights to come and it's on a
Saturday so there should be no excuses why you weren't there. The first one is
scheduled for the 22nd we'll see how it goes from there.

Hello All,

My name is Steve. I've posted a few pics of my 2006 XL1200C I
purchased a couple of months ago, I'll have to take some new ones as I
have changed the seat to a touring seat for my 50 yr old butt, added a
sissy bar and pad. I like to ride into N. Georgia from Buford on the
good weather weekends so I added progressive shocks and fork springs,
made a noticable difference in the quality of ride and handling. My
favorite afternoon ride is from Buford to Cumming and taking hwy 9 to
Dahlonaga then to Suches and ride nice twisty mountain roads. I have
not riden a motorcycle in some 10 years now so I am having to work on
my skills and find these roads great fun and good practice. I rode big
twins(shovel heads) in the 80s' and 90's so I am not totally new to
this. When we have another warm dry weekend maybe a few of us can make
the ride together?

Looking forward to hearing from others,
Steve

this site, others may not have. It's a discussion board for all kinds

Looks like fun. Depending on what's going on, that may have to be an addition
to the ole schedule. And since it's the first year, that could be cool as well.

welcome aboard. I'd like to go riding but my bike and nearly me were totaled last month on the 5th. Some jerk-off decided he needed the lane I was in more than I did. As soon as I find a suitable replacement I'll be back on the road again, I hope.

Cathy,
Thanks for the info but I think I've called them before and it's
pretty cost prohibitive for me to take it to a mechanic. If it's going
to be rebuilt then I'm going to have to do it myself. Thanks for the
info though I really appreciate it.

Gene, my mechanic repairs and builds bikes.  He's in the Athens area and well worth traveling to.  His name is Darren Lloyd and he telephone # is 706-613-5866.  Usually can't get him before 2 PM or so.  He's working on my Sporty now.  Very reasonable, and has been building bikes 20 years or so. My .02 worth .....

Those first two are nice but the one is too far away and the other is
asking too much. Insurance only paid out $4600 of which I've got $4200
left and another $300 or so in hospitol bills. Had the bike insured
for $5500 but I chose to keep the bike in the hopes that I could
rebuild it. I'm accepting offers on it now but if I don't get any good
ones then I know of a good rolling chopper chassis that's around $2500
I can drop the motor into. The first best offer I get will get them
what I have, so far no one's even given me a guesstimate.

www.bitterendchoppers.com has some killer frames.  MSO is the only part
which is kinda hard to do.  That last ironhead would fit you just right if he'll
take 3500.

ones then I know of a good rolling chopper chassis that's around $2500
I can drop the motor into. The first best offer I get will get them
what I have, so far no one's even given me a guesstimate.

changed on that, as I think the frame was modified in '04 for the rubber mounts, but regardless, that

Gene,

I am truly sorry about what happened. Hearing your story will remind fellow bikers to remain vigilant and aware of everything around us while on the road. You probably heard this from the Doc’s already, but take the time and let everything heal properly, save yourself years of future aches and pains.

The leather boot I had on that foot has a big nasty tear in it, from where it laces up to the main tendon around back. It's a wonder my foot is still attached. I consider myself one lucky SOB. Still have no recollection of the accident at all though, dr's say that might never come back.

Man-

What a trip that was-  I'd hoping not to remember it at all, as some things are best forgotten.  I'm hoping that you go the extra mile for pain and suffering, to hopefully rid the world the burden of one more ass hat on the road.  Enough to get a Road King with your new house :)    Man- Just glad you're still with us.
