The last time I bought tires for my 2000 was 1980. Is there a time
limit to the safety of the tires and tubes? I really liked the
Pirellis that the car originally came with. Much better grip than the
Michelins on the car now. The 165x400 tires sure are skinny. My 81
spider has much wider tires and corners much better. Any tire/wheel
recommendations? I'm not concerned about keeping it original.

Spencer

Dear Spencer: You should want to keep things original, and keep the 400mm wheels. I think you will degrade the value of your car if you switch to a 15 inch...

Hi Mal! I've been tempted by the 185 Michelin's for my 2000 Spider, but have been strongly advised by you and others against it for the reasons you give. I do...

Stu, et. al. - The Pirelli 165X400's are from time to time available from Matt Jones at Re-originals, and possibly others. They are currently produced and...

First of all, it would be great to have Pirelli 175x400 tires made. Put me down for 2 sets of 5 tires each, as long as the price is below USD 500 per tire. I...

Since this is the latest topic of interest I will share some photos of 15" steel wheels and tires I am using. I agree with Malcolm Harris, my old acquaintance...
