For Sale - 1965 Airstream Travel Trailer - Land Yacht TradeWind - $5   Message List

Hi - I would like to sell my 1965 Airstream travel trailer - Model
Tradewind Land Yacht.

I got into upgrading/updating the trailer in 2005. My goal was to do
it as "Green" and "Eco-friendly" as possible. She'd just about be
there with a solar system installation. My idea was to create a
sustainable, "off-grid" living space for myself and my son.

The trailer has running water in kitchen and bath, all electricity and
interior lights work, new propane water heater, new propane stove
works, new air conditioner works great. New flooring (eco-friendly
marmoleum), beautiful warm original Honduran mahogany cabinets and
woodwork, and I repainted the walls inside with non-toxic low VOC
paint. As you can see in the photos on Picasa, 2 of the tires are flat
and need replacing.

Plumbing, electric and gas systems all work great. Water system works
great but after paying an RV dealer shop to repair the leaky toilet,
it still leaks. A handy, motivated person could easily fix it.

I towed her from Florida to California in the winter of 2005/2006 (see
photos). She hitched and towed beautifully - without a hitch! Very
aerodynamic, this little girl wants to go! I also lived in the trailer
with my son for about 2 months.

The trailer just has got a nice, cosy, home-y feel. Skip the hassle of
a new construction project and set up this trailer as a stand-alone
space up behind your house. Could serve as a perfect "mother-in-law"
suite, a studio, a workshop, 1 person could comfortably live in her.

The trailer is in great condition and could serve for many years to
come. With a little bit of work she'd be in top shape. The exterior
needs work if you want her polished and "shiny". There is also rust on
the frame but could be worked with for someone with the skill / budget
/ desire. You'd want to seal her up better for cold climate living.

Please forgive the untidy state the interior appears in - I will have
her tidied up and post new photos as soon as possible.

I have a clean title and the original manual comes with the trailer. I
also have all the manuals for the new appliances.

Please give me a call at 352-262-8124 if you'd like to know more or
come check her out. I'd like to sell the trailer for $5500.00 but will
accept the best offer.

Thanks for checking out my posting!
