You have an older version of a lowering device called a "select-a-drop" .

The large screw going up through the center of the 2 large bolts lowers the
car by
turning it clock-wise and raises the car by turning it counter-clock-wise.

Raise the car with a floor jack and support it properly before working on the
adjustor.

ok..i believe i have adjustable beam but dont know how to lower it?it has 2steel brackets on top an bottom of beam with very large bolts going through each...
