Folks,
Welcome to the first communication from Motorsport Scotland. As a group, Motorsport Scotland have already started to bring industry, education and sport together to make this nation a force to be reckoned with in the global field of motorsport. The actions and objectives are detailed in the attached file.
We require your support and views to enable us to assist in taking all motorsport projects forward. To this end we have devised a short online questionnaire that will only take 5 minutes to complete. We would appreciate you using the link below, to access the survey and your input is most important. We would also appreciate you forwarding this communication and survey link to as many in your organisation as feasible to enable a broad picture to be formed on motorsport in Scotland.

See below an email from a fellow petrol head who is about to start a business providing motoring / motorsport inspired clothing:
I've been feverishly working on a new business venture over the winter and I could really do with some feedback before I commit any further.
I'm looking at starting a clothing company with an automotive inspired flavour. Everything is basically in place but what I really need now are some folks to give feedback so that I can tighten up the direction.
We've got an online questionnaire and I'm trying to get as many peeps as possible to complete it. In return were going to give everyone that completes it a chance of winning some clothing and also 20% off their first order. Feel free to get friends and colleagues to complete it!

Subject: Fwd: Starwars Scatter Rally regs and entry form To: Dominic Shanahan <domshanahan@...>
Alright there,
Here's the regs and entry form for the scatter rally. I'll
give the £6 entry to anyone who lets me know they're competing before the event, could you pass these on to anyone you think would be interested. I have rejigged the points a bit, and I don't think there's any bits
you'd have to go on that are hugely unsuitable for a Lotus...
For anyone who fancies a trip north for Stonehaven & DMC's autotest regs are available at www.sdmc.org.uk Please note date is 6th May not 22nd April as you may have seen published earlier.
Venue is Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre.

Hi,
I know there is a motor club in Glasgow Univ. And I wrote an email to
them and they forward my email to you. Do you remember?
Thanks for your advice. I will come to there if I could make it.
Cheers

Welcome to the group. There is an event on this Sunday at Knockhill, starting at 11 AM.
There is nowhere we can practice without getting nicked by our friendly police force. Best approach is to simply enter an event an give it a go. There are always plenty of new comers at events, and folk on hand to offer advise.
Did you know that Glasgow University has it's own Motorsports club? see www.gumsc.net
Is this a cunning plan to fill up their car park when they're playing
at home as they only get a handful of spectators ???

Subject: [adcscotland] Request for unusual cars for a wee car show / display
Hi All,
Motherwell Football Club are running an open day on Sunday 13th May, from 13:00 - 16:00. They are looking for a selection of cars to put on a static display. They have asked me if I know of anyone with an unusual car that would be willing to display it for a few hours on the day.
Hi, all
I am a new member. I am a chinese studying in Glasgow University.
I wanna learn something like handbreak turn etc.
May I ask where you practise your autotest skills normally? As a
beginner what should I do firstly?
Thanks

A wee reminder of event on Sunday at Knockhill. Regs attached.
A few folk will also be at forrestburn for a hill climb fun day, so, if the autotest finishes early enough, a wee trip to forrestburn (2pm - 4pm) may be worth while.
Dominic
Hi Dominic
Sorry I thought I had sent you a copy of the regs.
As before all proceeds from the autotest go to The Brittish Heart Foundation.

Thanks to all for a good event on Saturday. Good to see the youngsters coming along so well. Think I'm getting too old to run around the country like this. Felt the effects of Saturday when competing yesterday.
Think they need some of those bright buckets down here. Considering I didn't hit a single one on Saturday, I made up for it big time on Sunday. Finished the day 3rd in class and 7th overall.
Need to get my hands on one of those Caterhams as those looked like fun on Saturday.
Hi,
Just though I'd introduce myself as one of the new members.
I'm Mac, based in Blantyre and own the silver caterham that was there
on Saturday (and also at Hamilton)
Still trying to get into the swing of things as I'm getting far to many
WD's :-( Always get a huge grin on my face so that more than makes up
for it.
Anyway - Hello!

For those who did not make it along to the SSCC event at Johnstone, you missed a great day. Weather was ideal, (although just a bit warmer would have been good). Good routes, and a good turn out made for a good day's motorsport. Congrats to John G. for his overall win. I'll post the results when I get them.
Thanks to Thinforth for use of the Caterham, as ever, it was great fun.
We have had a few new members join the group recently, so WELCOME! There is not a huge amount of posting on here, but most of it is reasonably usefull ;o)

Scrutineering starts at 10.30. First run at 11.30.

Thanks Dominic. Popped out at lunchtime and picked up a new radiator
for the Land Rover, so just need to find time to change it.
Hopefully see you all on Saturday morning !!!
As I've very rarely driven rear wheel drive, let alone one in anger,
I think it is just as well you sold your BMW !!!

Subject: [adcscotland] A wee reminder - autotest on 24th Mar; Johnstone
Hi All,
Please find attached regs & entry form for the autotest on 24th Mar.
Also, for those who have not yet updated membership, please find attached membership form for ADCS.
Cheers
Dominic
P.S. For anyone not yet joined the Yahoo group (where all regs & results & news is posted) go to; www.autotest-scotland.co.uk and click on the link to join.
Unfortunately it looks like I may have to pull my entry for Saturday as my Land Rover (tow car) has got a problem with its radiator leaking. If I can get a replacement, I will try and fix it, but touch and go.
