I will agree with what Mike says about the turbo lag on the 1.8T, I hear the 2.0T has less noticeable lag, but I've not driven one, nor will I ever buy another...

Actually that's not true. The DSG is available in the A-3 and if you drove one I could almost guarantee you'd buy it. Provided you like the car of course....
