They only sold them in '83 and '84 in the US. I believe they were sold in other countries in '85 also or at least I have seen several advertised that way....

And even if the bike is jetted correctly, a bike with bad crank seals will suffer from a similar running condition. My 86 IT200 had that problem. Very poor...

No you don't have to split the cases. You need a flywheel puller to install the ignition side seal and you have to take the clutch off to install the other...
