No Vintage Rally is complete without pounding down grog at a local tavern. Not
a lot to choose from in North Conway if you need a seedy tavern though, and who
doesn't, especially after sampling the fine examples in Lockport and N Tonawanda
NY. The 1785 Inn on Rt 16 is haute cuisine at high altitude, named one of NE's
top 6 restaurants(e.g. you can't slam your hook into the bar top). Elsa's White
Mountain Tavern: no data, meaning it might be the best choice. Muddy Moose:
noov-oh rustic with huge bar food menu, no data on ale/beer. Wild Boar: High
end, classy, opened winter of 2008 and closed that spring. Message? May be
reopened under another name. All are on Rt 16. Tavern search tip: Teutonic
cars outside? Stay away. Beater pick ups/rusted sedans parked at odd angles?
This is the place!
