I need to jump in here and confess that back in my younger wilder days I found
a great way to avoid speeding tickets. When I was riding my motorcycle ( ether a
XS 11 special Yamaha or A R100ST BMW ) I would look for a Big Black Mercedes
Benz and follow it. The MBz were almost always driving 15-20 mph over the posted
limit. The interesting thing was that out of nowhere they would slow down to the
posted limit and sure 'enough a CHP unit was near by. I experienced this several
times. The best was a run from Laguna-Seca raceway to Santa Barbara in just two
hours. Had to be back for a friends wedding.
