Your 98 doesn't have an oil pump drive chain!!! The oil pump runs off
of the intermediate shaft like most of the diesels before. With that
much mileage, you might consider a fresh set of injector nozzles. My
current 04 just has 91000 (bought it used) so it is just a baby but I
sold my 98 with about 140000 and still going strong. In fact, I just
did the first "repair" necessary for it since I have owned it, I
replaced the glow plugs. Hayden
