Just a belt replacement? LOL!!!!!! Dude the TDi is a synchro engine. Valves have been bent or damaged beyond repair! If your wanting to fix this on the cheap

It depends. The cheapest would be that a roller or tensioner broke and the belt came loose. It goes up from there. The most expensive is that the pistons

Sounds like you may have a faulty vnt actuator getting ready to fail completely. I just replace mine at 180,000 miles. Check out the actuator info at Fred's
