Update:
I took a ride to Lake Placid today (Wednesday, August 05, 2009) and checked out
the caladium fields off road 621 which is off Hwy98 on the way to Sebring.

I am happy to say that the caladium fields are in full bloom the colors red,
white and green really looked nice and road 621 takes right into the heart of
Lake Placid.

Everyone should enjoy the ride to Lake Placid before checking out the festival.

Meet at Pogey's Restaurant, South 441 Okeechobee at 8a.m.

Leave Pogey's at 9a.m. for Lake Placid

Tour the activities 2 - 3 hours depending on weather

Eat lunch in Lake Placid or head back to Okeechobee and eat at Lightsey's.
