The National Highway Transportation Safety Association has recalled
125,000 Toyota Tacomas years 2000-2003.
In August 2004 I was in a Toyota Tacoma truck fire wherein I lost
about $35K worth of personal possessions. So far I have received
denials and harassment from Toyota and their technicians. Needless
to say, I am fortunate to hav survived. I am luckier than the Toyota
Camry owner who was burned (3rd degree) and lost her two collie pet
dogs.
Has anyone had similar problems with Toy Tacos burning spontaneously?

Summary:
ON CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS, DURING SIDE IMPACT NCAP TEST (I.E. LINCAP
TEST), A FLANGE AT THE REAR END OF THE DOUBLE CAB BODY DEFORMED AND
INTERFERED WITH THE FUEL INLET HOSE THAT CONNECTS THE FUEL FILLER
PIPE AND FUEL TANK, RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE FUEL INLET HOSE.
Consequence:
THIS DAMAGE COULD RESULT IN FUEL LEAKAGE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A
FIRE IF IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL INSTALL A FUEL HOSE PROTECTOR ON THE BODY FLANGE. OWNER
NOTIFICATION BEGAN JUNE 3, 2003. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN
AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE
THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-
800-331-4331.

Thought I should pass on my knowledge to all you guys (and gals) on here. I know

My husband was in an accident March 29,2006 and was killed.The truck
was on fire. He had a 2004 model. We are investigating. Can you send
