Well after 185 miles it took 6.36 gallons or 31.45 mpg. The Matrix got 29.5 mpg over the 35,000 miles I put on it. But too soon to tell from just 1/2 a tank....
Yes, higher pressure reduces the amount of flexing of the sidewalls, and thus reduces the amount the tires heat up, so the higher-pressure tires run cooler....
