It will be a year next week that I had received the engine and transmission
for the Tupelo Toyopet. I has been a challenge for me to locate parts and had a
gasket kit made from the original one. The machine shop had to have the main
bearing made using the original ones. In all it will be a nice engine. This week
I started to assemble the engine and had to locate another set of the rear main
rope seal. I am taking pictures of the engine assembly as I go along. I painted
the engine block gloss black including the head. The starter and the generator
will be painted green as it was originally from the factory. The intake and
exhaust manifolds have been jet coated in a light gray. The engine was fully
balanced for the engine to operate smoother. The oil pan and the valve cover
will be powder coated gloss black. I also had the radiator restored with a new
core not cheap. Also all of the hardware have been CAD plated to be as original
as possible. I will keep everyone posted as I proceed with the rebuilding of the
engine as well as taking plenty of pictures. I will try to post pictures of the
engine as well, and the last will be a video of the engine running on my stand
for breaking period. Stay tune
