Tupelo Toyopet updates

Well it has been 11 months since I had taken the engine apart on the 58
Toyopet from Tupelo. Last week I finally pick up the entire engine and engine
parts and to start the reassembly of this very rare vehicle. The machine shop
responsible for the machining and locating as well as making some of the parts
that are no longer in existence did a great job. As I had mentioned in my last
post a few months ago the engine main bearings had to be pored and a mold had to
be made. Same for the rod bearings and pin bushings. Also upon taking the engine
apart I found out that this engine at one time had received a piston sleeve and
the piston had been reinstalled the wrong way. Now the fun begins I will be
taking a lots of pictures as I assemble the engine for the history of this
museum piece.

Stay tune for the next episode

Thanks
Frenchy
