Hi,
Does anybody use the clutch stops on the late vintage primary chain case?
I find that if I wind them in so they touch the outer clutch plate when the
clutch is depressed it makes 1st gear engagement from a stationary crunch free
at the expense of not being able to silently down-change into 2nd or 1st when
moving
I find the down change into 2nd particularly critical as my bike has a very high
top gear and being a 350 it does not have the low-down slog of a 500 so I run
with the clutch stops wound out so they never touch the clutch. As I always bump
start the bike I rarely find it necessary to select neutral when stationary
My bike has a full front oil bath yet a CP gearbox – I guess this is an
unusual combination which may effect the gear change
Thanks for any ideas,
Matt
