Anybody got info on pre war New Hudsons...   Message List

I bought a rare old 1929 250cc SV New Hudson. Info is pretty hard to come by
though. Not much on the web that I can find.

Looks pretty original though has had some work done on it within the last 20
years (I'd guess judging by some silicon gasket goo I've come across). Petrol
was VERY stale and had been there some time judging by the brightest green brass
petrol cap I've ever seen !!!

Turns over, even has a spark !!! Looks like new points quite recently.
Box selects all gears chains and sprox look good All cables work !!! Carb is a
thing of beauty...

I've taken copious pics (as usual) and am in the middle of putting them on
Photobucket. Link below if anyone is interested.

It would appear from some letters I got with the bike that there are only four
of these known to survive and that they weren't made for very long.

Should make an interesting comparison to my model 1

Any info advice gratefully accepted...
