Right, Ken, with a stock Syncro we have nearly full torque available in
front and rear depending on conditions. The exact situation varies with
use of the locking diffs, rear and front, if so equipped. The solid
shaft replacement for the VC makes this even more true.

Talked at length to Peloquins yesterday...Town is flooded in and nothing better to do...He is still working on it and thinks he has all the pre prototype bugs...
Daryl, That is great to hear. I am assuuming that the 75/25 figure you mention is what the bias ratio will be, e.g. 3:1? That would be awesome. Instant...
I have driven my Syncro with no rear driveshafts installed. It drove pretty much normally, which indicates a near, if not total, transfer of torque to the...
Actually Larry you are right. I have just now realized that if the VC is replaced with a Torsen it does not really solve the lack of a traditional center...

75% rear and 25% front at all times is one choice..The planetary does a 2:1 ratio in normal mode and the guts can be "ramped" for different ratio's with the...
Hmmm. Well here is what I've gleaned from the Audi newgroups and a day in a Hummer H1, so it is not a full on technical understanding. On an Audi (and I...
What I have in front was sold as a LSD, not a "Peloquin". So I surely hope it is in fact a LSD. :) After the LSD was added to mine, I could definitely feel a...
My apologies folks, I see now that a Torsen replacing the VC will not act as a Torsen would in a vehicle with a traditional center differential. Silly me....
I wonder where this 50% notion comes from. There is nothing limiting torque to the front wheels of the Syncro to only 50%. You can drive around with no rear...
Gday Mark, Yes I've often wondered too what's fact and fiction about torque potential at each wheel of a syncro, depending on any scenario. For example, a...

Gday Mark, Sorry Mark. I was deliberately trying to get down to the root fundamentals on this without diflocks being involved, they only muddy the waters even...

Mark is correct, of course -- isn't he always? Let me say that on more than one occassion when my Subi overpowered a stock rear axle, I have done exactly what...

Hey, I put the smilie there for a reason. For me the device is what I wanted. At the time it wasn't possible (parts, and monetarily) for me to put a locking...
yeah, I'm wondering what is meant by 'preloaded' too. on a Subaru WRX Sti .........the front-rear torque bias is fully adjustable from 100 % rear, 0 % front,...
