Hi Folks, Jim Davies is doing a breakfast run on Sunday 29th November, about 30
miles into Essex for breakfast and then on to a museum if you want to. Meeting
point is at Bourne bridge, (at the end of Wherstead Road) 9.30 am, there is a
Shell garage there and a lay-by.

IMPORTANT

Warning..!!!!
Just last weekend on Friday night we parked in a public
car park. As we drove away I noticed a sticker on the
rear window of the car. When I took it off after I got home,
it was a receipt for petrol. Luckily my friend told me not to
stop as it could be someone waiting for me to get out of the car Then we received this email yesterday
.

WARNING FROM POLICE

THIS APPLIES TO BOTH WOMEN AND MEN

BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE--

NEW WAY TO DO CARJACKINGS (NOT A JOKE)'

Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating.. You walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine put it into Reverse.

When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you stop and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.  When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically run you over as they speed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car.
So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, lock your doors and just drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail. I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women.  A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands.

Please tell all your friends

Hi Folks, some of you will already have had this message via our e-mail shot but for those who haven't. We are looking at holding a Christmas meal, the preferred date seems to be Saturday 19th December, prices vary between £9.99 and £12.95 for 3 courses depending on where we go, both choices of venue are very close to Ipswich. Please let me know if you are interested and we can get something booked up. Cheers Neil

Hi There

Chris and I did the Ride to the Wall (RTTW)

Quite an event with 5000 bikes taking part. Not many old motorcycles, mainly
cruisers and lots of Scot's down for the event.

I have put a video on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PvedF18PZ0

Photos of the Copdock bike show can be seen at:

http://aol.pixum.co.uk/slide/4547454

The club stand was very good, not sure which club won that prize but the best
Japanese Motorcycle was a 400/4. In the class that my motorcycle was entered
(post war singles) a Truimph Terrier won. I didn't expect my Cub to win :)

Hi

I am booked into the show with the tiger cub which will be displayed in the main hall.

Entrance to the show on the day is £8; advanced entrance was £7.  I bought two tickets.  The cut off date for entering a bike to the show has gone, I was a day late but they were expecting it in the post so I got in.

Henham Steam Rally was good, lovely day and over a hundred bikes on display. I am putting a video on YouTube of the Line-up.

See you on Sunday

Jan

Hi Mick
Roy (he  is one of the guys organising our stand) has spoken to the organisers today, we are not in our usual position in the shed, we are now in a rectangular pitch and thus have lost our extra space in the corner. With the bikes we have in theory been promised it is looking likely there will not be sufficient space for a pair of Goldwings, particularly as there is  a sidecar. Bit of a shame if this is the case, we are trying to get a definate list of who is commited to coming and what area we have over the next couple of days. The problem with these set indoor pitch sizes is that we cannot expand it as can be done with an outside pitch, therefore we are limited in what numbers we can have. I am in more or less daily contact with Roy so as soon as we get some answers I will let you know where we are.
As far as I can deduce there is an exhibitors entrance and it is £7 to get in, all the club stands are in the cattle shed as its called.
talk to you soon
kind regards
Neil

Hi

Some of us were at Barford Supporting the Norfolk Group, otherwise we would have been at your open day.

I hope to be at the Henham Rally on Sunday with the Tiger Cub.  Andy of Fram got the head fixed for me.  The little devil still played up though when Chris took her on a test run.  She even bit him, well actually he burnt his finger on the exhaust when he was adjusting something.

So long as things go to plan I also hope to be at the copdock bike show.

Hi Paul
sorry we missed you too, the letter from head office should have had 11 till 3 on it which is what we did. We have found on our previous open days that folk have gone by three. Mine was the last bike left outside at 3! I left at about 3.25 so I only just missed you. Glad the air ambulance run was good, I suspect that may have been why our numbers were so low at our open day this year.
kind regards
Neil

Sounds about normal Mick. I got my letter about our open day, GB used last years letter even though he said he hadn't saved it, this stated complimentary food, for reasons of expense we decided not to do complimentary this year, a modest charge to cover costs instead.
I have now e-mailed in asking if the club will re-imburse our section as we are now having to give away food which we had not planned for. Is it me??? This sort of thing really should not be this difficult!!! !!!

I did get an answer from George telling me to look in Tansha or on the web site, I was really thankful for that info.
Still tickets are ordered and I just hope they get here on time as of Monday they had not been delivered to Doug even.
Mick.

Hi Mick
try Dennis Lodge to contact Doug, he seems to be in touch quite regularly, its worth a try at least. I am glad its not just me fbeing let down or the mail shot, I was a bit fuming to get an e-mail saying "dont know anything about it" (our open day)  a week after saying the letters would be sent out the next day!
As you say, has it all got too big, or perhaps needs a shake up.

Hi Neil,
I know exactly how you feel we have asked for mail shots that never happen over here too.
At the moment I'm trying to order tickets for Snetterton the only contact for Doug Perkins is a PO Box, there is a mobile number under Northamton, no answer so left a message, still no answer so e-mailed George Beer to ask how to contact Doug and why I needed to know and guess what NO ANSWER.
Could be the tickets are on their way but it would be nice to get confermation.
Sometimes think this club is too big.
Mick.

Hi Folks, I e-mailed George Beer about a mail shot for our open day, this was because nobody seems to have had a letter from "head office." I was a bit amazed to get an e-mail back claiming to know nothing about it! I have re-sent the letter and postal code areas I originaly sent in on the 20th August to George, hopefully this time something will happen!!!!! GGGRRRRRRRR

Is it me??? This sort of thing really should not be this difficult!!!!!!

Thanks for that Neil, Doug has a mobile number which is listed under the Northampton section contact details.
