All,

Cali-SS is planning to have their 2nd annual San Diego cruise this March, exact
date TBD. Last year Kyle and I went and it was a great time. They had 51 cars
show up for it.

I sent out a message about the Street Trends car show in Feb, but don't think we
can make both events. I would rather do the San Diego cruise.

Who would be interested in going?

Subject: [SSincitySS] Hesitation Question?

Hola Peeps,

Well the 94 is finally done just working out the bugs now. First..... Oil filter adapter leaking. Second.....Brand new coolant tank ordered from NAISSO fucking leaks! Check the oil filter adapter, if you are running the stock shit, throw it away, and go buy a small block chevy oil filter adapter and run it that way, you don’t really need all the freaking lines running to the radiator -  Call NAISSO and tell them that you are going to send them their shit back and that you want a new one.

Now my problem is i have hesitation in the lower RPM between 1 thousand and 2 thousand RPM. In the higher RPM ranges there seems to be no problem car runs strong. The car had the same hesitation issues before the rebuild. When the car is cold she will idle fine and continue to run, but if i try to put a load on her the hesitation is so bad it will sometimes die on me and even back fire. If i start the car let her warm up for a few minutes and be easy on the throttle after she warms up you can feel whatever issue that is causing the hesitation to go away and the car will drive almost perfect. I am not getting any cell readings so i cant check there.

Reading the forum hesitaion issues seem to be centered around a few items.

1.) Bad opti. I have brand new AC Delco opti. Not your OPTI!!
2.) Burnt spark plug wire. Brand new spark plug wires and iridium spark plugs. Not your Plugs
3.) EGR valve. I suspected this was the culprit before the rebuild. But now that i have done away with the air pump and put in quad one headers, could a bad EGR still be causing the hesitation when the second tube from the intake to the headers for resuculating the exaughst doesnt even exist any longer and the hole is blocked off and sealed?? I have like 3 other good EGR's should i replace it? Probably gonna try tonight unless i get some input its not going to change jack. LOL you can test to see if your EGR is BAD, go ahead and unplug the vacuum line that goes to it and plug it, if the problem doesn’t go away, then is not your EGR, do this before you swap it.

4.) IAC control. I have not replaced this sensor still the original sensor. But the car idles perfect, only hesitates under load when cold lower RPM. Again i have extra IAC should i replace the IAC WTF does it control? Lol It wouldn’t hurt if you take it off and clean it, just make sure you DON’T touch the splinter. Clean it with carb cleaner and install it back the same way, sometimes this valve gets stucked because of too much shit in it.

5.) TPI sensor. Not sure WTF it does either but came up in the forum as a possible hesitation issue. Need to make sure that your TPS is reading the correct voltage, should be around .85 volts or something.

6.) Bad temp sensor in W/P. Ever since the install of the new electric W/P, Gary's innovating wiring harness for W/P, new Hyper stat, either the car runs so cold she is not showing on the temp guage or temp sensor is trash. This sensor is not the one providing the information to your gauge, this is what controls Open Loop and/or Closed Loop – when the car is cold, this sensor sends the information to the PCM and lets the PCM knows that the car is cold, as the car warms up and the O2 sensors are now active, the PCM goes into Closed Loop and this sensor is no longer used in normal driving conditions, if the car is warm and you go to WOT then the PCM uses the information from this sensor to control the fuel, in other words, once you go WOT the O2 sensors DO NOT control the Air/Fuel mixture, this freaking sensor does, so you need to make sure is working properly, remember that the PCM uses this information when the car is cold and when the car is at WOT.

7.) Intake Manifold re-torque. Already retorqued the bitches. GOOD

I highlighte the issues i am now thinking the could be the problem. Figured someone or the man Jose might already know what the issues is from symptoms. BET your sweet ASS I know what’s wrong with your car, you never changed the Knock sensor on the side of the block you cheap BASTARD!!  HAHA. Either those sensors are bad and they need to be replaced or you used the ones from a 95 or 96 car, if you did used the ones from a95 or 96 car, then this is your problem, they are different, so go out and BUY a new set of AC delco Knock sensors for a 94 Impala SS and stop using cheap ASS parts.

As for the temp gauge not working, it got ruined when you installed your headers, it is located on the pass side of the engine, by the dipstick, chances are you need a new one.
Nough said.  I’m OUT.

2.) Burnt spark plug wire. Brand new spark plug wires and iridium spark plugs.
LOL

4.) IAC control. I have not replaced this sensor still the original sensor. But the car idles perfect, only hesitates under load when cold lower RPM. Again i have extra IAC should i replace the IAC WTF does it control? lol

5.) TPI sensor. Not sure WTF it does either but came up in the forum as a possible hesitation issue.

6.) Bad temp sensor in W/P. Ever since the install of the new electric W/P, Gary's innovating wiring harness for W/P, new Hyper stat, either the car runs so cold she is not showing on the temp guage or temp sensor is trash.

7.) Intake Manifold re-torque. Already retorqued the bitches.

I highlighte the issues i am now thinking the could be the problem. Figured someone or the man Jose might already know what the issues is from symptoms.

Brandon

as a run down what i have done to elimate possible causes.

Quad One Headers, Free Flow Cats, Air Pump delete, MSD Ignition (6A box), MSD Dual Coild (MSD adapters Ect), Talor 10mm wires, NGK Iridium spark plugs, New Fuel rails and Injectors, Mezier HD W/P & Garys W/P wiring kit, Garys Battery cable wiring kit, New Alt, New P/S pump, Underdrive pulley (Crank, & Alt), AND A NEW CRAKED COOLANT TANK lol

Windows 7: I wanted simpler, now it's simpler. I'm a rock star.

Same basic process as when we change out the springs. Except we have to
disconnect the upper and lower ball joints to get the knuckle (spindle) off and
reverse the process to install. Just need the jack under the control arm to
hold it in place.

Kyle needs a right spindle for his wagon. Does anyone have one? The inner
bearing came totally apart and it tore up the rotor and spindle. When we got
the rotor off, there was no inner bearing there! It was totally gone, just the
race left and it is tore up.

As far as the parts, I would be interested in the Opti and water pump. As you may not have heard, Kyle got his car back on Tuesday night (it was stolen) and the bastards stripped a lot of stuff from the engine bay.

may not have heard, Kyle got his car back on Tuesday night (it was stolen) and
the bastards stripped a lot of stuff from the engine bay.

Mod day went well. We worked on Danny's car, changed his fuel pressure
regulator and got it running. Then changed the spark plug wires.

Looked at Ramon's car and looks like he needs a new heater core.

What took you so long to change the wing? You should have called me, I would
have helped you out!
